A few different bases 31st July 2018

Post by tommc » Wed Aug 01, 2018 12:51 pm

A usual Tuesday day out, taking advantage of the on-going Summer sun.

01.

Cranwell was back in action, and the flightlines were already in use by 08:00. Prefect ZM321 was parked ready for use.

02.
Image

Over to Coningsby to take in some Typhoon action. Harsh sunlight meant the only resonable location was the approach end, so a few standard uninteresting angles. Can't be much longer left for this airframe.

03.

Great to see some colour still hanging on, here a 29 Sqn T3.

04.

An 11 Sqn marked FGR4.

05.

29 Sqn's specially marked RAF 100th anniversary jet.

06.

6 Sqn marking on this FGR4.

07.

A plain Tranche two single seater....

08.

.... and a Tranche three single seater. Spot the difference.

09.

Nicely marked 41 Sqn T3.

10.

Of course, a large cloud heaved into view as the 27 Sqn Chinooks returned! Nice to have some colour on it though.

11.
Image

A much more anonymous looking Chinook HC6 .

12.

Across to Marham to get some departure shots on runway 19. Not long left for the Tornado fleet.

13.

A GR4 keeping low after take-off.

14.

Tornado overshooting.

15.

Tornado breaking back into the circuit.

16.

And then down to Lakenheath for late afternoon light.

17.

Based Strike Eagle landing on runway 24.

19.

Aviano F-16C overshooting.

20.

Nice light just prior to touchdown.

Yes, spot on. More clearly visible from this angle and light.

When did an RAF Station become a "Base"? Honestly.

"Base" is for American fanboys IMO, let's keep it "RAF Station" please.

Looked like a good run round some RAF bases Tom!
It’s been pretty busy recently spending time at RAF bases keeping up with the new types. Spent quite a bit of time at bases like Yeovilton, Cranwell, Odiham over the last couple of years. Still waiting for ZK555 to put in an appearance. Of course , the next RAF base that will require effort will be Marham....

They're laughing their socks off at RAF Cranwell re your 'bases' descriptor phila, then again maybe your mom wrote it for you. If so, awesome.

What’s it got to do with you if I post a reply to a thread - are you the Fighter Control police ? I see from your previous posts that it really does upset you though doesn’t it?

One of these - go absolutely nowhere, see and do absolutely nothing but love a good comment people aren’t you.

Do they find it as amusing as when you had to ask the Fighter Control forum if you should go to Coningsby or Lakenheath for your big trip out of the year ?

Recent trips Mil related?

2018 -

Laughlin Air Force Base Airshow

Dyess Air Force Base Airshow

JRB Ft Worth (viewing from outside)

JBSA Kelly Field Annex (viewing from outside)

Dover AFB AMC Museum

Bridgewater Airpark (You'll need to look that one up...)

Summit Bridge (You'll need to look that one up as well no doubt....)

Longside Airfield ex RAF Longside flew in in a RV-8 for the Fly-In

Easter Airfield ex RAF Fearn flew in in an RV-8 for the Fly In

Numerous flyovers of ex and current RAF Stations and Royal Navy Air Stations for photographs as that's my hobby Including - RAF Balado Bridge, RAF Kinnell, RAF Errol, RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Kinloss, RAF Findo Gask, RAF Heathfield, RAF Turnberry- RAF Montrose, RNAS Station Arbroath, RAF Tealing.

That's all off the top of my head so far this year.

Note - None of the UK RAF Stations or Royal Naval Air Stations above are or never will be 'Bases' despite what you US Fanboys want them to be, I prefer visiting actual Bases in the US of A.

Now you, where you been in '18?

Oh dear you really are upset aren’t you and just as I said then.

US fan boy ? Looks like it’s you that goes to the US airshows. Not a US fan boy at all - it’s hilarious that anyone is that much of a cock that they would reply to several posts commenting that it is stations not bases, whether they are stations or not

Certainly not providing you with a list of 2018. There’s plenty - posted a few pics on here , have a look if you’re that bothered

You made a comment - "One of these - go absolutely nowhere, see and do absolutely nothing but love a good comment people aren’t you." You were wrong, weren't you, but I'll leave it at that seeing you are unable to respond.

P.S. Cherish your heritage son.

Good call David - you leave it at that.

Far from unable to respond by the way - it’s you justifying yourself.
