Did anyone else catch the 17sqdn airfield attack thurs afternoon? First time seen a tiffy come in like that very impressive! Are they practicing something for families day or was it a one off?

He explained what type of attack it was afterwards to the tower.

Remember two smoking Starfighters streaking over Binbrook at 08.30 one exercise morning being hotly persued by two Lightnings.All at about 200 feet and about 500 knots.Super!

I watched it from the mound but from there it looked more like a fast run in en then break for landing.

It wasn't looking that impressive compared to other base attacks i have seen.
Most spectacular thing was the breakchute malfunctioning after landing, it came loose immediately after deployment.
