For the record, I'm 43 and live near Heathrow, where I also work.Despite my choice of career, it's military and not civil aviation that mainly floats my boat, although I do dabble in the odd civilian theme or two!
Went to my first Biggin Hill Air Fair at the age of 3 and been hooked ever since! Sorry to see the end of those shows, now really only go to RIAT, but can be found occasionally peering over fences at Lakenheath, Coningsby and, when time and money allows, Lossiemouth (new favourite place on planet!) Keep meaning to go to Leuchars, but time and money not allowing at present!
Favourite things, F-4's, especially RAF ones, Wattisham being my previous favourite place on planet during the late 80's and early 90's with Elder Forest and all that! Vulcans also get my vote, as does the magnificent SR-71 Blackbird, and B1's and B-52's. Basically, if it's big, and /or loud, it does it for me! As can be seen from the above, I also have more than a passing intrest in Typhoons and Tornados.
Unfavourite things? The gradual decline of our Air Force and the disappearance of so,so, many wonderful Aircraft, Airfields and much of our history.
I think that's about all for now, thanks for looking!
All the best,
Steve.
