I have got to agree with GVLCN & andrew b, if they don't improve the line up soon.........., it will have to be the first show that I will miss :'(
Don't write it off yet......There's still 92 days and 7 hours to find some more aircraft ;)

The days of >300 aircraft at European airshows which were able to cater for just about every enthusiasts taste (as well as the thousands of people that don't really care what serial number or colour they are) are now sadly long gone, some people need to get used to it. Many of us can remember the big shows during the cold war years when they guaranteed a large variety of class aircraft and proper displays. In comparison what we have now is tame but is the best we can expect in the circumstances and aircraft attendance is not guaranteed due to the significant costs incurred by the operators as well as other more important commitments. Writing this one off 3 months before the show is actually pretty ridiculous, particularly in the current economic climate. I would suggest people need to take the dwindling opportunities they have now as they will become very much rarer in the future. You will get the best variety available due to some hard work by many people across the world (not just in DBH) and the antagonism shown above can do nothing to aid their endeavours.
See whats on offer in the summer, if you don't like it spend your £40 on half tank of petrol or a few pizzas and go to the seaside

I agree with what you say above, but looking with whats on offer £40 is looking steep. When you add train fare (in my case),shuttle bus etc I now tend to think they are over-pricing the show.Mildenhall did it for free or £1 or so and was a direct competitor for IAT for a/c variety and the feel good effect( beer/burgers).I,ve only missed 1 the rained off show and I was at Swindon bus station when I learned it was off, since 1977-Greenham Common, but £40 for whats on offer so far this time is beginning to look to much.

Hi,
I don't know too much about this so am no 'expert', but I agree with Chris, a little early to be despondent I think, I have tickets booked and am hoping for good weather, the rest will take care of itself hopefully.
Lets be positive.
Cheers

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

I would add that if you think RIAT is looking bad take a look at what is happening here in the US with shows dropping off the schedule quicker than what ever and a lot of bases having less life in them than a cemetery. A few decent things in my opinion announced for RIAT such as the Columbians and the Italians and certainly plenty room for more but this year generally is going to suck on a global basis so my view is anything other than a cancellation is a bonus.

Well, there's a Russian Sukhoi Su-35 displaying at the Paris Airshow from 17th - 23rd June, if you fancy popping over to la belle France!

If you could ask him to say sorry for the whole Alexander Litvinenko incident, that might also help UK & Russian relations and we might get to see some Russian hardware

It was stated somewhere (cant remember where) that the only two airshows the US would support this year would be RIAT and Paris and that would be with local assets on static only so reading between the lines im guessing at a couple of Mildenhall tankers and if were really lucky then maybe an F-15C or two.

Unlikely, and it's highly unlikely it ever will again. Can't be long left for the Spanish and Italians now? I'm going to outright discount the Thais and the US civil one!

Although, saying that, there was one a Sea Harrier last year.

Today's update 25/04 has started
The Air Tattoo is delighted to learn that the Royal Air Force is working up a special flypast to mark the 70th anniversary of the famous Dambusters Raid in 1943. Details are yet to be finalised but should it be approved, it will be an evocative and eye-catching tribute to all those who took part in the legendary World War Two mission.

Static
QinetiQ
AgustaWestland 109 ETPS Helicopter
Alpha Jet ETPS Advanced Trainer
ASTRA Hawk T1 ETPS Advanced Trainer
BAE Systems Avro RJ100 ETPS Transport
