Time to let her die in peace.

Branson wanted nothing to do with it, it's a military aircraft that had a nuclear role, he refuses to be involved with either.

I can tell you exactly where it's heading. If they don't get enough money by October(ish) to do the wing mod then it will be grounded.Machloop wrote:it is pretty obvious that nobody has any idea where this thing is heading.
If they raise the money then it has the potential for another two years flying (to end of 2015), subject to normal ongoing costs, then it will be grounded for good.
These are the facts stated from VttS themselves.
Like ANY charity, raising money is an ongoing necessity, but like any charity you are not forced to donate anything.Machloop wrote:It seems that we are going to get the begging letters for some time to come.
Re: Time to let her die in peace.
Wonder what their plans are for the monies raised if they don't end up reaching the required amount?
Re: Time to let her die in peace.
I agree that the so called begging is normal Charity ways, it's a proven way as can been seen year by year. only needs Rolls Royce to up the Engine life limits and the begging could go on past 2015.Hurn wrote:I can tell you exactly where it's heading. Money for the wing mod is being raised as pledges, so they will only be called upon when they have enough money pledged to go ahead with the work.ChrisGlobe wrote:Wonder what their plans are for the monies raised if they don't end up reaching the required amount?

That makes sense

Re: Time to let her die in peace.
Having read most of this drivel I really can't be ars•ed entering into a pointless debate except that the statement suggesting members of the general public don't give a damn about the Vulcan is completely unsubstantiated (no one has asked me anyway!).
Re: Time to let her die in peace.
If no-one has asked you, then surely your comment about the general public not giving a damn is equally unsubstantiated - unless you are the voice of the general public?davski wrote:Having read most of this drivel I really can't be ars•ed entering into a pointless debate except that the statement suggesting members of the general public don't give a damn about the Vulcan is completely unsubstantiated (no one has asked me anyway!).
