Loud 'Bangs' over the UK

I heard and saw some fireworks at about 19.00, no Russian bombers over west Norwich though :whistle:

Lots of reports in the Midlands area of loud bang over head, around the same time.

Yes I've heard them, and very heavy rumbling now too, I'm pretty near Stansted, nothing showing on Planefinder but sounded like an MD-11 but a more heavy sound, not an AN124 though!

Heard a few loud bangs in the Brize area about half five tonight but thought nothing more of it than big fireworks being let off?

Yeah there were reports of an explosion in the early hours at Marne/Catterick. Slip roads off the A1 closed as a precaution for most of the day.

Was thinking that it could be an earthquake but they don't come from the air and it would be impossible to be heard throughout the whole country.

Sounds very much like some type of earthquake, seems these booms have been reported over a lot of the UK.
no reports of any QRA, meteor shower maybe?. very strange what ever it is.
