Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015

Bumper crop out on a cloudy and chilly ramp this lunchtime were :
ZK191/LC31 Lynx Mk140 for Algeria
(ZK192) Lynx Mk140 for Algeria
ZK194/LC34 Lynx Mk140 for Algeria
(ZR353)/(MM81865?)/15-02 HH-101 Caesar fully painted for Italy, in wash rack
(ZZ541)/(15-0601) Wildcat Mk210 fully painted for South Korea in dip unreadable
(ZZ542)/(15-0602) Wildcat Mk210 fully painted for South Korea in dip unreadable
ZZ543/15-0603 Wildcat Mk210 fully painted for South Korea, in dip readable
ZZ544/15-0605 Wildcat Mk210 fully painted for South Korea, on ramp, then towed to dip
(G-17-510?) Merlin
The 4 Koreans were being arranged in-front of the hangar doors in the dip - I guess for some publicity photos?
Also seen on SBS this morning was Merlin HM2 (ZH861)
Cheers
Malcolm

Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015
It certainly was busy between 11.45 to 13.15 Malcolm. Just a bit more to add
ZZ543/ 15-0603 was the Wildcat that was engine running, then flew about 12.15 and returned about 30 minutes later.
I was told that 2 UK Wildcats on the ramp were ZZ401 & ZZ409.
ZZ532 RN Wildcat 3/4 complete and fully painted was towed along front of flight shed and around behind it.
MM81867 15-04 Italian HH-101 was towed out of R.H. flight shed and pushed back into the middle one.
ZH861 RN Merlin coded NL had flown in the morning and was towed back into flight shed.
I think the UK serials have been removed from LC31 & LC34
Finally (MM62224) C-27 was visible descending towards Yeovilton.
My thanks to several people there for help in identifying the large selection of helicopters.
Regards
Vic

Departing south bound as a pair whilst I was having my cornflakes were two Algerian Lynxes, presumably on delivery. You snooze, you lose. By the time I got to the fence, they were well gone, with only the following out on a chilly bluebird ramp:
(ZH861)/NL Merlin HM2
ZZ401 Wildcat
(ZR35_) Merlin Caesar in wash rack
Cheers

Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015
To add to my earlier sighting of ZZ525, the following were noted (no specific order) until I left just after 1pm,
MM81865 15-02 HH-101A towed back out the hangar
(G-17-510) Merlin mk510 on ramp doing engine runs
ZZ401 returned from its morning flight and was put away
ZZ??? Wildcat was towed out of lefthand door of hangar & pushed back in again (same door), unable to read off as view obstructed. No blades & minus panels
ZK192 & Zk193/LC33 Algerian Lynx were towed out the hangar, ZK193/LC33 was put back in again about half hour later
AH-64D Apache AH.1 was towed out of hangar
ZA679 u/c landed for a short while then departed again
Still out on ramp at 13:15
Apache, Italian HH-101A, ZK192 Lynx,
Any help with the unidentified ZZ??? Wildcat would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

Departing southeast bound whilst I was having my morning showers was an Algerian Lynx, presumably on delivery. I guess this may go the same way as the last pair via De Kooy and Keil.
By the time I got to the fence, only the following was out on a cold bluebird ramp:
G-MCGR AW189 for UK Coast Guard
Cheers

Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015
was up in Nine springs on a dog walk, though this was a two tone Wildcat as it come over head but didn't look too close
Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015
Algerian Lynx LC33 made a fuelstop on EHKD. On it's way to Northolz.
Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015
Hmmm - something fishy going on this arvo. Currently got...
[43C47F] "WHE07" (ZR353) SQ4367 showing on PP.
However, the aircraft that's in the circuit is dark green with an under-nose camera/FLIR by the looks of it.

Wonder if that code has been robbed by "AW101"?

Thanks - that dispurses the smell of fish. Showing as [43C47F] "WHE07" on SBS.Blackcat1 wrote:Merlin Westland 07, MM81865 currently up and about around Yeovil
Korean Wildcat 15-0605/ZZ544 also was outside at 09:00L, and presumably was the one flying mid morning too.
Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015
Any idea what the all white aw189 was that was sat on the field this afternoon

Likely to be G-MCGR. This is currently all white with an orange/red top to the rotor head.somerset wrote:Any idea what the all white aw189 was that was sat on the field this afternoon

Many thanks for that's
Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015
A flightplan has been filled for De Kooy for LC-32 for 18-12-2015. It is expected to arrive at 13:50 LT at de Kooy, so expect a early departure from Yeovil.
Re: Yeovil Sightings - Winter 2015
Won't be able to confirm this one. Am currently in Tignes trying to sit outside a bottle of Chateau Prieure-Lichine 2011 (Margot), Grand Cru Classe www.prieuere-lichine.fr860SQN wrote:A flightplan has been filled for De Kooy for LC-32 for 18-12-2015.
