The flightplan for LC-32 got cancelled. No new flightplan filled. We have to wait and see.

Tuesday 22nd December

Seen landing in to Westlands circa 10.10 this morning was a Wildcat AH1. Parked to far up the field to read off by the time I got to the Airfield. Only other machine out was a AW 101 in Dark Green scheme with high vis blue ,white & red roundal and white serial towards the rear fuselage and a similar coloured flash on the tail - possibly ex G-17-510.
Any help with the i.d. of the Wildcat greatly appreciated

Just gone past the window inbound is a RAF/RN merlin with a probe under the port side nose. PP is showing [43C2FA] "WHE01" SQ4361, which is/was Gazelle XX453. "WHE01" is usually a Merlin - I assume piloted by the chief test pilot. I haven't seen a Gazelle round these parts for a while, so I'm wondering if perhaps G-17-510 has become 'military'?

I was there 1030-1130, but unable to i/d the Merlin, i was always in the wrong place at the wrong time. It had a small white registration with with RAF red/white /blue roundals [not the normal low viz red/blue]. AW101 ex G-17-510 perhaps ?? Also pkd. outside was ZZ542 / 15-0602 Wildcat. On the civvy front was G-DCII AW139. I returned again 1355-1435 to find that ZZ542 / 15-0602 had been joined by ZZ544 / 15-0605 and ZZ526 an AH-1 along with a u/d RN Merlin, CU on the tail.

G-17-510 was allocated military serial AW101 late last year.

Out on a sunny but chilly ramp this morning were :

ZZ542/15-0602 Wildcat for South Korea - been out in the same place all week
ZZ526 Wildcat AH1 "Army" mkgs - been flying on and off all week as [43C767]
AW101 Merlin. RAF Dark green c/s, White serial, orange probe under nose, and hi-viz RAF roundel and tail flash. Outline of old markings (G-17-510) visible on tail section.

Pinging on SBS is...

11:20L [43C47F] (ZR353) "IAM1510" Merlin Caesar.

Given the callsign showing, and the spirited flypast a few minutes ago, I suspect this may be on delivery.

Cheers

That may explain the crew that arrived at Yeovilton in the C27J yesterday.

Thursday 21st Jan
Noted on the ramp this morning around 10:30
Wildcat - ZZ541/15-0601, ZZ544/15-0605
AW-101 - mkd AW101
Further down the field past the tower and near to the Rotor test area was another AW101, not fully complete in a dark c/s with a high vis insignia on the tail - any ideas?

09:00 Out in the wash rack this morning was a stripped down HH-101 with 15 Stormo badge on the tail - possibly a new one.
15:30 Out on the ramp was Merlin HC3 (ZJ132)/Q

Italian HH-101 coded 15-05 was outside at 12:30 today (25th) with no rotor blades fitted.

Hope this helps,
Steve
