Re: NATO Tigers Meet, May 2011 - Questions
Everyone who is signed up for the tigermeet should have received an email
Dear NATO Tiger friend.
This is the first SPOTTERS DAY INFO MAILING, in the coming weeks
we will send out a couple more so that all of you stay up to date
with what is happening.
NATO LIBYA OPS
Despite rumors on many forums, NTM 2011 is still up and running.
There are however some cancellations due to NATO OPS at Libya.
One of the most important ones to date is the one from Belgian
31 Squadron. They however intend to visit the NTM weekend with
at least a few aircraft.
Other cancellations include the Hungarian 591 Puma squadron and
NATO N°1 squadron.
SPOTTERS DAY TICKETS
As announced previously you can now book extra tickets for
Wednesday 11 and Tuesday 17 for both days we still have like
500 tickets (each available)
NTA 50th ANNIVERSARY BOOK
During NTM 2011 we will be presenting our large NTA 50 book.
The book turned out to become 432 pages thick, and about 3 KG’s!
It is currently at the printer, and will be ready just in time for
the Tiger Meet.
If you want to smell fresh ink, you can buy one for 60 euro’s
at our NTA sales stand during all spotters days and the Nierges
Airshow... or you can buy one now through our website (see webshop)
and pick up your book at Cambrai... we will refund the charged P&P on
the spot!
PRACTICAL ISSUES REGARDING SPOTTERSDAY
We will be sending out a mail with practical issues regarding the spotters
day at the end of this month (probably around MAY 1st). we will also
post these issues on our website then.
Regards,
The NTA team.

Re: NATO Tigers Meet, May 2011 - Questions
Nothing officially announced but a couple of posts on Scramble say the Dutch (313 Sqn) and some of the German participants might have cancelled
Scamble Lets hope its not true. Or they manage to show up for the spotters days. If operational commitments allow

Re: NATO Tigers Meet, May 2011 - Questions
Lets hope the rumours of some of the Germans dropping out of the tiger meets isn't true

At the last Tigermeet -Volkel, there were all kinds of squadrons/nationalities pulling out left right and centre. Eventually all that were left were a handful of the regulars, and then the weather was turning manboobs! up.
Despite that I still went to Volkel and took some of the best photography I've had in ages, I had the time of my life!
So okay presumably because of Libya, some units have inevitably had to pull out. ie. Britain - Pumas, Belgium - F-16's, Holland - F-16's, Norway - F-16's, Hungary - Gripens ? Oh, and an E-3. Well so what, all the exotic stuff is still there untouched. In May the NTM is going to be staged at Cambrai, a fantastic location in northern France, the weather's gonna be great and it won't be too crowded (all the world and his wife-and screaming kids won't be in the way!).
So chin up and stop worrying, you're still gonna have a great time no matter what the outcome.
Who was it said "a bad days spotting still beats a good day at work!"?

Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

Not when I was there last year - well, one!ChrisGlobe wrote:Well said! And if all else fails, there must be some based Mirage about!

Re: NATO Tigers Meet, May 2011 - Questions
If its like Volkel last year, you will be stood near the active runway, and there will be 2 main launches - morning departures and afternoon departures. At Volkel last year, the afternoon launch was certainly busier. Hopefully the Italians will pose in front of the crowd again this yearmattjohnconker wrote:ive just got 2 tikets for the 17th, could anyone tell me wot to expect on this day

Re: NATO Tigers Meet, May 2011 - Questions
I woudnt expect to be near the runway but close to the active taxi way with a long row of jets! on a large pan all in front of you , if its the same as 2002
Re: NATO Tigers Meet, May 2011 - Questions
Participation list was "updated" today, thankfully no new cancellations
