Jaguar box 16 + spares 18th + 19th September 2003

Post by Scorch998 » Sun Oct 23, 2011 9:36 pm

Hi all, back on the 18th September 2003 I watched a box 16 of Jaguars together with 2x air spares routing over Ipswich practising for a flypast. The very next day I saw another box 16 of Jaguars but this time with 3x air spares again over the Ipswich area. So does anybody have any idea which aircraft were involved?.

Cheers .... Ian.

Ian hi, sorry for the late reply, the info you require is as follows, it was the Jaguar 30th anniversary flypast,
The rehearsal took place on the 18-9-03 with the following Jaguars,
XX112/EA XX150/PW XX720/GB XX729/EL XX737/EL XX737/EE XX748/GK XX766/PE XX845/ET XX846/PV XZ104/FM XZ106/FR XZ115/PD XZ356/GK XZ357/FK XZ360/FN XZ399/GN with photo ship and air spares XX116/EO XX139/PT XX841/PQ.

The flypast was on the 19-9-03 with,
XX112/EA XX150/PW XX720/GB XX729/GL XX748/GK XX845/ET XX846/PV XZ104/FM XZ106/FR XZ115/PD XZ117/EP XZ357/FK XZ360/FN XZ394/GN XZ398/FA XZ400/GR again with photo ship and air spares XX139/PT XX766/PE XX841/PQ.

There you go hope it helps,
cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob, thats great thankyou, I had been advised of some of the tail codes by a friend who managed to read them off through a scope at the time, but never got round to following the info up until now. Do you happen to know where the flypast took place?, I could never work out what they were doing over Ipswich unless they actually ended up en route to London. Most formations that were London bound normally form up over the coast at Southwold and take a straight line (roughly the A.12) southbound via Ipswich (right over my parents house) and beyond.

Cheers again .... Ian.
