I think I saw this aircraft as static display at Yeovilton on Saturday , am I right in saying this?

Yep, it was there. Shame I couldn't make it!

It has been doing the rounds recently, Waddington and Yeovilton Air Days. It would be nice to see at Culdrose next week :)

Hi Malf (& everyone!)
What a brilliant couple of pictures - you caught that one just right!!
Incidentally, I think that I may have seen this one in the distance yesterday (Monday 15th) traverse over Stithians Show ground at around 1105BST (1005Z) and again at around 1140BST (1040Z), moving from S/N to the east of the showground and about a mile to the east of it was a Sea King 'bagger.'
During the afternoon it was quite unusual to see 3 Merlins in line abreast formation again moving S/N to the east of the showground, - they eventually disappeared.
Just before this, there was a lot of Hawk high flying activity to the NW of here and yesterday evening a Falcon flew across the area from SW/NE.
All in all quite an interesting day!! Long may it continue!!! --Paul

Hi Malf (& everyone!),
(Brief postscript to yesterday's post!!)
It has been an interesting day here also - firstly, a 771 Sqn SAR Sea King flew right over here at around 500ft during the early afternoon, (travelling from E/W),
followed by a couple of Hawks (again, similar to yesterday, doing overhead steep banking circles and thence beyond), a Dauphin helicopter traversed S/N and then, late in the day at around 1610BST (1510Z), I heard something very unusual ( and got the nokkies out!!) and, lo and behold a powered glider (G-OGAR) came up from the SW, (I admit that this is not a mil. one!!) circled around a few times and then went up to the north and disappeared!! Again, the more helos and a/c the better, as far as I am concerned!! --Paul :thumb:

Hello Paul, it would certainly have been the 146 that you saw, i too noted the Merlin trio -from my garden- they departed CU in line-astern formation, i did think it unusual enough to snap though!(A Merlin2 leading a pair of Merlin 1s)

And yes, i also noted your Falcon 20 in the evening, it came from your direction and crossed into Mount's Bay at a point near Porthleven.
All being well, next week you should have all manner of sightings!

Hi Malf,
Very many thanks for that mate - I am so glad that you managed to get that rare pic of the 3 Merlins (Seaking93, I have noted your comment also!!) -
I must admit that I was amazed when I saw them - I have seen multiple Sea Kings before, but never any Merlins - it is a very rare occurrence indeed!!
Thank you for confirming that it was the 146 that traversed the showground - I got the nokkies out for this also, but I was unsure of the a/c concerned -
it looked initially like some form of U.S. cargo a/c, but I thought 'the fuselage is far too thin for that' !!! :O )
Also, thanks for the Falcon confirmation - these are lovely aircraft (I originally mistook these for Lear Jets a few years ago now  )
As you say, let's hope for a lot more aviation action next week!! (But the latest charts indicate the QNH at 1012mb, winds at 11015kt, 8ok cloud and rain showers, some possibly heavy for 1200Z on Weds 24/07/13 - Culdrose Air Day),
- Oh, no!! - let's hope that they've got it all wrong!! --Paul
