You choose a good location, put your own team together and organise your own perfect show - simples ;)
I'm happy - I go to Fairford, Zeltweg, Radom, Athens, Sanicole etc. just give Cosford a miss though..

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2025

I've been grumpy about the RAF shows since Finningley bit the dust - I thought Waddington was a massive step down but Cosford is excruciating bad. Awful location and they put no effort in.
I guess the kids know no difference though.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2025

It is and remains an embarrassment of a show - really is this the best the RAF' can do? What other national air arm in Europe puts on a worse show? I'm hard pressed to think of any? And while we (Brits) flock (with good reason) to other European shows - It's hard to imagine anyone flying to Cosford ...

AAC Airfields

Just wondering what is at Middle Wallop these days? I understand the new Apaches are flying from there - any idea of numbers? and what/how many other aircraft fly from Middle Wallop?

and the same for Wattisham? - any idea how many/what helicopters are based at Wattisham?

Thanks for any help

Re: LN Strike Eagles going home

This doesn't add up particularly, for me at least? Why all the building and development work to be able to accommodate a 4th squadron (the 2nd F-35 one) if the base is to lose 2 F-15E squadron's anyway? SJ already has F-15E's? Also I don't believe I ever saw any plans for the F-15EX at LN? given th...

Re: LN Strike Eagles going home

Seemingly Not - back to 2 sqns Gutting. The Eagle is my favourite jet to see at low level. Any ideas when they plan to back to the US? He says once the F-35 sqn are complete the 15E's will go back probably to SJ - can't be that far off both 35s units having a full compliment? as posted above the co...

LN Strike Eagles going home

Haven't listened to it yet. but I've been told this mentions the plan is for 2 LN F-15E Sqns going home once the F-35s are up and running. Plan might change of course! https://www.armed-services.senate.gov/hearings/to-receive-testimony-on-the-posture-of-the-department-of-the-air-force-in-review-of-t...

Presumably these ranges are staffed by RAF personnel. If so where are they based? Cranwell, Coningsby, Marham?
A mix of RAF (Controllers and management) and SERCO do the ground work
Might as well close the place or put it on permanent "opened by Notam"

Re: Athens Air Show

Was hoping to look here... https://maps.app.goo.gl/WocX89ALuDPuS2iJ9 Suggest you look at Google street view for that location! It only says no drones and photography (I wont have a camera!) - - Most bases are usually OK with spotting from the outside during arrivals/rehearsals - in fact they will h...
