Have you any results you can share on using a tank or two of E5/99 yet? It only took you about three weeks of E10/95 to note the poorer mpg compared to the previous E5/95.
I am increasingly suspicious that the forecourt shortages may have been caused by the switch E5/95 to E10/95, as I don't believe in coincidence. Presumably if many cars are experiencing perhaps 10% poorer mpg, compared to the previous old E5/95, the average driver would have to fill up 10% more often leading to 10% more demand for fuel. That's all it would take for a few garages to run low/out of unleaded. And as soon as the press tell us of fuel shortages, we all (diesel owners included) panic!
Or am I being too cynical?
