Overall pretty smart

. Personally I would’ve preferred a larger roundel dissecting the Blue cheatline, UK titles in Blue but preferably RAF titles instead, serial does seem rather strange that size and why the need for the Union Flag on all four front doors, when a larger one where the front Corporate logo is, would’ve looked better.

10 out of 10 for the colour scheme from me, I think it's perfect.

New colour scheme's bordering on the "
dark side" , very corporate (ish). I would have preferred it in the more traditional RAF colour scheme personally, white top, light grey undersides & blue cheat-line. But it is 2020 now, and I'm an 'ald git, so I suppose anything's better than low vis grey

Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

I get why all this has been done, even if the timing is a little off with everything that's going on, and Boris rattling his monkey cage (which is offensive to monkeys, frankly), but that's all coincidence.
But, eugh, all that corporate-speak is exactly why I left in '07. Cringeworthy.

Lets hope the rest of the fleet get the same paint scheme, anything but that grey dullness in the skies!!

They won't - if you have bothered to read the thread (which apparently you haven't) you will see why.

Not a bad scheme at all....along with others I think the serial is far too big on fuselage!...as for the Union flag on the doors,I assume that this is done,so that when opened, it appears in shot alongside whoever is exiting the aircraft,be it Boris or Royalty etc!. Overall quite impressive.

Who wouldn't want their country's leadership to arrive in that? Isn't it impressive?
We often forget that the Union Flag is used by some our of Commonwealth friends so always worth removing any confusion about whether our guest is from the UK or New Zealand.

If you look at airliners they often have the carrier name and/or alliance membership logo by the doors for pax loading and for photo opportunities.

Reading this thread,I see a figure of £100K being mentioned instead of the £900K quoted in the media(the £900K is Still being reported by my BBC local Radio this morning). Which is right?

I doubt 900k would of been just for paint. It probably has a new interior as well. The whole aircraft has probably had a refurb which would take it to 900k i think.

Paint job would have been around the 100-200K mark. The rest is for the outfitting to effectively "Queens Flight" standards, and the fitting of all the secure comms etc not already fitted. The rest would have been for its scheduled maintenance overhaul as part of the SDR 2015 contract anyway, so its's all pre-allocated money, not fresh out of the coffers as some would have you believe.

I think this aircraft was fitted out a few years ago, it's been used by government officials since around 2017 I believe! This paint job is an add on and one of Boris's vanity projects, because he can!

Aye, I think there were still some significant upgrades to what was already on Board as part of the scheduled maintenance/refit though. And it was definitely due a respray. I've no doubt BoJo had a lot to do with the paint job, but those costs were already covered under the contract. White paint is cheaper and lighter than grey paint. It's already paying for itself.
We can speculate until were all blue in the face. The fact is it's happened. Let's all just deal with it and move on.......

Some newspapers are saying a large part of the cost was the fee paid to the design company the Gov employed to come up with the livery.
