I once heard that flight plans and flight operations information has been known now and then to include wrong information just to see when and where that information turns up

Unfortunately Spitfire it was only a low level transit over the Western end of the base from Brize to the Salisbury Plain at 1621L. It did it again at 1944L. What did do an overshoot to R27 at 1543 was a DA-42 GCTCG.
Probably did an approach to keep the controller awake!MJ-new-gc wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 7:23 amI wondered if G-CTCG was related to:
U3441/20 - ILS RWY 27 OUT OF SERVICE. 29 JUL 17:10 2020 UNTIL 05 AUG 23:59 2020. CREATED:

But I don't think it is one of the DA-42 setup for ILS Work (although I know they would usually use the FAA Challenger)
Fully agree: we risk (at best) losing goodwill and at worst, things moving elsewhere.graham luxton wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 7:35 pmPeople who post what call signs "should be" are well advised to keep that to themselves.
When the ATC job was advertised it was for multiple controllers, I’m guessing because of COVID only one has been aloud over so far.graham luxton wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 10:07 amThey hired a US civilian controller as an addition to the team. According to the 501stCSW this will enable 24/7 ATC coverage at Fairford.
The new controllers will be part of ( work for / with ) the 420ABS , probably not the 420EABS, that’s the guys that swap over every 6 months from the hall.Cranberry wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 4:39 pmMr L is correct, but no military base is going to feel proud about saying it can operate anything less than 24/7. My guess is Fairford that can now operate 24/7 more cost effectively and at shorter notice than it could before. I don't know if 420EABS includes ATC but TDY support is never cheap.
Right hand of the 2 large pitched roof hangars north side . Happy hunting .
