Wierdly it didn't seem to be fitted with the Span/Spur pod on return. Havent seen anyone catch the departure but I'm guessing it didn't depart with it either :lol:

If the source is CFMU then the question has not been answered. I asked what the aircraft was heard calling via radio transmission.

They're the same for obvious reasons sam. It's impossible for there to be a mismatch otherwise the plane wouldn't be allowed in the air. Where do you think the callsign comes from? :pop:

I've heard and seen aircraft calling differently to their flight plans more than once, be it through mistake or miscommunication, especially when it comes to US aircraft.

I'd also be interested in whether the aircraft departed and returned under the same callsign.

The callsigns come from the operations centre of the aircraft, certainly not Eurocontrol!
