Carswell AFB 1992

Post by mudhen15 » Tue Jan 26, 2021 11:02 am

Was on the George Pick trip to Texas and have aircraft listed as museum. Have memories that they were not on base but in a small museum by the perimeter fence, with the runway clearly visible as well as some B-52's.
Have listed the aircraft logged, but if anyone can add any extra would be very much appreciated. Also, if the museum wasn't a Base museum, does anyone know the name of the museum as I can't find my copy of USA out of service

We visited in 1991, and the museum was then located on the south western corner of the airfield, just down from one of the General Dynamics gates - roughly here : 32.7569742,-97.444024

Haven't got my log handy, but ISTR there was GF-111 on display, and perhaps even a B-58.

The museum has long gone now. last time I visited only the F111 was there. Also KC97 on the airfield.

Thanks for the added info.
AT-21 Gunner was built by Fairchild and was used to train bomber crews to work as a Team. Only used fora short while. Looks like a smaller B-24
