Thats interesting though not really surprising .
Re: Proposed Airspace change to accommodate RPAS operations
Now we know what the new "Multi Purpose Hangars" are to be used for.
It usually takes a few years to get an airspace change through the system so this will probably tie-up with the hangars being ready.
RQ-180s will make a change from U-2s

More likely to have Global Hawks surely? Long old flight from Greece or Cyprus for them to operate in the Baltics at the moment.

(Also my reading makes me think parking at Fairford won't be a problem in the future as most 'spotters hate drones'?

Yeap, Drones leave me cold. No interest in them at all. It is making a human being able to fly, and be in control, that attracted me to aircraft in the first placepage_verify wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:42 pm

Humans are flying them, just remotely.

Fairford definitely seems to be on the up. Who knows, maybe one day it'll outrank Mildenhall in terms of diversity of activity?

1. If/when indeed
2. I was talking about the other 51 weeks of the year
3. Can one not dare to dream?

When you consider the numbers who attended sell out (non-air show) drone shows around the country this year, maybe they will replace spotters in air show car parks :-)page_verify wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:42 pm(Also my reading makes me think parking at Fairford won't be a problem in the future as most 'spotters hate drones'?)
