Once in the west, Point Mugu show, static '95 Gordon

Post by Gordsmith » Sun Jul 24, 2022 11:28 am

At the risk of boring all with my travels in the USA I am back with another selection. Mugu was such a great show that I find I have taken so many shots (a large percentage rubbish) that I have split my efforts into two parts. This first lot is the static display. Regards, Gordon.

Certainly not getting bored of your travels, envious yes 🙂, but not bored.
All very interesting airframes but I do like the green CH46.

Thanks for posting.

I do like a fast jet (or two); however for me, even the 'special ones' are trumped those herc schemes and shots, and absolutely fantastic final P3's!
Thanks!

I knew from the title that I'd enjoy this one, and it doesn't disappoint.

It brings back memories of the only time I visited Point Mugu. One of the Antartic hercs was doing touch and gos for hours and hours - so much so that I stopped taking pictures after a while. Hard as that is to believe these days!

Thanks for all the kind comments. I am glad to have stirred up some memories. So many more negatives to scan 'cos I can not remember what I took back then, in fairness I find it hard to remember what I did yesterday! Gordon,

Another wonderful set Gordon. All those lovely test aircraft, the VX-9 Tomcat is something else.

I hope to be at NAS Point Mugu show in March 2023 but I don't expect it to be on this level. I will settle for a few VX-30 aircraft and maybe a patch and challenge coin lol.

Loved them, thanks for sharing.

Once again, thanks for the comments. Jason, as Point Mugu NASis closed, I suspect that the show in 2023 will be slightly down on the one I just listed, but you never know what might turn up, good luck.
Regards Gordon.

Again a very nice set of images you share with us here. It certainly was an impressive array of aircraft presented on the static. I am looking forward to part 2. Thanks a lot for posting.
