The biggest problem with our now eliminated team was highlighted by the commentator, 7 of the starting 11 were over 30. How Lukaku managed to miss so many sitters is mind boggling.

Rejuvinate with a younger squad and we will be back. Au revoir les Diables Rouge

I thought Croatia were also poor

Costa Rica equalize against Germany!

If Costa win and Spain don't score another goal then Spain and Germany are eliminated!

It's mad

England are looking quite good now

Poland are through

Big day for Germany tomorrow but although they are bottom of the group they probably will go through.

Germany must beat Costa Rica which they should do and hope that Japan don't beat Spain which is unlikely otherwise Germany will need a really big win to overcome Spain's goal advantage.

Costa Rica can qualify with a win
It's crazy

Germany equalize but still not enough

Germany beat Costa Rica 4-2 and are out

Japan and Spain through

Japan fully deserved that in a group with Germany and Spain

3rd in the 2018 WC as well, but are too old a squad now.

Nail biting end to both matches and I am a neutral

Whatever your opinion on the suitability of the host it has nonetheless been a great world cup so far.

The knockout out stage is more cagey as nobody wants to lose whereas in the group stages you get a must win situation especially in the latter stages of the group matches

What is going on?

Cameroon 1-0 up against Brazil in injury time

Brazil lose 1-0 to Cameroon but still win the group with Switzerland runners up

Sure Jazzie will put me right
