Chapps we now have 5 proposed GB's on the cards

Display Teams and SOLO aircraft - 3 entries
Fleet Air Arm - 4 entries
Arab Air Power - 4 entries
CAG Birds - 3 entries
Aggressors - 2 entries

the team have decided that we will lower the entry numbers to get them off the ground (so to speak) to 5 entries per GB anyone interested in them please add an entry in the relevent thread, it would be nice to get some new members to join our GB's as it seems to be the same names

anway i will post a link on the main site to advertise us!

im game for this  a group build might be the motivation to start modelling again!

one question.. whats GB's all about? do we build our own models then post up our photos and thats it?

fleet air arm and arab power sound good what aircraft are of choice?. also whats aggresors?

hi mate we basically all build a 'theme' together over a set time period, build in the wip section and post finished photos in the relevent gallery, so say for the FAA

i buid a buccaneer, you build a vixen and so in in the wip, you show photos of how the builds going and when finished post finished photos

if you are interested, make a post in the relevent thread i.e. theFAA one or the arab ect

hope that helps anything else let me know

I've also noticed that none of the suggested GB's(exception being the Harrier) have so far reached the necessary numbers.

Why?? As there seems to be enough members on here that I would expect 15 names per GB

Are people on here not interested in Group Builds as it seems to be the same names appearing over and over again in each suggestion. Are people put off by the fact that GB's tie you to a particular subject or do people feel that some subjects are just outwith their interest or maybe it's the time factor? Maybe (and it's only a suggestion that) those members sitting on the sidelines put forward their views. The GB's will only succeed if members join in, if not then you may will lose them.

Hopefully with Christmas and the New Year now out of the way, more modellers will come out of the shadows and join in.

For me it's the fact that they tie you to a particular subject. I've got a few models now that I would like to do and none of these would fit into the proposals that are being put forward. Don't get me wrong the ideas are good and mark is doing a good job its just I can't justify buying a kit just so I can participate in the group builds. If one comes up that fits anything I have then I will gladly join in (for example the large scale one).
