Spotting at Luke AFB?
Spotting at Luke AFB?
I'm hoping to visit Luke next month and was wondering if anyone can advise where the best place for spotting is? Thanks in advance for any help.

Spot 3 and 4 for landing shots when I was there last month
Plenty of parking no hassle
Spot 6 for reading of late afternoon when the heat haze dies down

Re: Spotting at Luke AFB?
Further to Slogen's response, it obviously depends on which way they are flying.
Spot 2 is the obvious point on runways 03. Just to the NE of spot 2, where the road bends, one can stand off road and shoot over the fence with no ladder required. 03L is clearly the better runway, and one is close to the touchdown/turn-on point for 03L.
Again one can park off road, and get no hassle.

Get there quick, before the Singapore aircraft leave for Ft. Smith in June.

Spot 4 and 6. I was there last month and these are the only two spots according to the scramble map that are good for spotting. Photography on the other hand has plenty of vantage points around the base.
