11:29 Ghost 01 airborne

ZM155

Could do with a few more low departures like the HuAF Gripen

Danish 6504 F-16B on approach
From my departure photos Danish 6504 should have been ET-613

The two Gripen E 6012 and 6004 from memory - are they carrying Swedish Air Force serials or are they really SAAB demonstrators ?

They used Swedish Air Force callsigns when departing

Does anyone know if anything other than B-52’s are left on base?

They have serials 396004 & 396012 in small numbers on the engine intakes under the forward canards, although this doesn't confirm if they are still with SAAB or have been delivered. Deliveries to the Flygvapnet started in late 2021, and as they used Air Force callsigns, it suggests to me that these two have been delivered.

Thanks for that

I will have them as Swedish AF unless they subsequently turn up in Brazil or Thailand!

I also noted a U2 being towed towards the hangars (17:00 ish) was this the same one which was moved earlier the day ?
Cheers CD
No. 80-1079 returned at the close with the pod and went off early morning before the viewing areas opened at 7.30am.

80-1096 was the static and the one you saw on the tow during departures going back to the hangars.

The Vampire departed at around 14:45 hours?, it was shown on the PlanesTV stream.
It departed at 1156 local according to the (GPS slaved) clock on my camera.

All the aircrew and maintenance crew were Saab employees.

Does anyone know what the reason(s) were for the refusal by the French as regards the homeward bound flights by Al Fursan and the Greek Phantom? TIA

An error will have been made in the Flight Plan. It could stem from the crew, their ops, or RIAT ops.

Flight plan issues were mentioned a number of times to different departures over the radio, but I didn't hear to who!

Thank you for the quick responses.

Flight plan clearance:-
Just to put a fine point to it, if there are problems with a submitted flight plan, why are the aircraft allowed to depart in the first place? Conversely, if the submitted flight plan is fine for UK airspace, why is there a problem on the other side of the Channel?

The French are very clear when it comes to flight planning. Just because it's accepted by the automated processing systems does not mean it's valid for the very specific french rules, and therefore if you don't have it right you may be turned away when a human physically looks over the plan...which generally happens when a movement is prenoted (~5 and ~15 minutes before a handover)

When we left, the Mildenhall MC-130J was still parked up in the SW corner of the airfield having taxied over there during the late afternoon.
