A fantastic amount of information from Uni. I am considering a trip to Japan in October so this is very helpful.

I am going to the Japanese Grand Prix in September, apparently the Blue Impulse team are displaying?

Kawasaki T-4, look very similar to the Aermacchi T339 used by Frecce?

Do they do a good display?

Going to get a rehearsal on Saturday, and display on Sunday!

Only taking a small camera so don't expect to get any decent pics, but I'll try!

I saw them in 2018 at Iruma airshow, which had eye watering number of spectators. I really liked their display and the locals lapped them up. I am bored with the Reds no matter how good they are always good to see a new team and Japan forgetting the aircraft is a amazing country have a great time very jealous.

Slight 'downer' on the stated smoke details above. I was at the Nellis Golden Air Tattoo event & was really taken by the light pastel smoke colours of the Blue Impulse, Pink, Blue, Orange, Green & White iirc.
Subsequently I have visited numerous Air-shows on multiple trips to Japan featuring 'The BI.' & on every occasion the have used solely White smoke! :O
