Lost scanner

Post by Plane enthuiast » Wed Dec 13, 2023 10:34 pm

Hello members of fighter control.

I lost my scanner earlier while photographing the B2 down at 27 end. Was hoping someone picked it up or will look out for it tomorrow. Many thanks

Tom

Great Result! Out of Interest.. Handed in to where? I wouldn't know who or where to hand it into, except for the local Plod base? (which is probably Gloucester these days? )

Was handed into the crow man who’s usually parked in the entrance to the field which houses the 27 approach lights sorry meant to add that.

The "Crow-man" you say? Guess you have to be a local/frequent visitor to know who this is, as he could be 'unusually' not parked there on any given day!
Either way, it's great to get your scanner back so promptly & restores ones faith in the Community camaraderie. :thumb: That, despite recent Faceache reports (unconfirmed?) of equipment being filched at Lakenheath Spotter Park? :O

Yeah it’s bird scarer guy always in a small van and always parked in that entrance way every time an aircraft comes in don’t usually have to wait too long for him to come back either. From my experience he’s always around as it’s his job. Either there or down Washpool lane so should be easy to find and I’m sure the other spotters there will help if needed.

Definitely very grateful that someone found it and handed to him and another spotter then told us that someone handed it to them. Also feel pretty fortunate as I’ve heard stories of people losing them and then not getting them back!

Hope this helps :thumb:
