Waddington 17Jul - Blue&White KingAir/Shadow?

Post by watfordsimon » Wed Jul 17, 2024 9:16 pm

Hi all - passed by Waddington today (Wed 17th) around 1130 as the Saudi Herc was landing. I noticed a Blue & White Beech KingAir 300 (or Shadow?) outside and nose-on, with winglets and in a blue and white colour scheme I didn’t recognise. Could anyone assist with military serial (or civil reg instead if it is) please. There was also a Shadow along from it, at the same time, in the red and white tail scheme.
Cheers in advance,

There was only one Shadow out yesterday both times I was up.

ZZ418 was doing engine runs and then flew later in the day.

It's the only R1++ spec at the moment, grey underside, white top with a red/blue cheat line along the side and up the tail incorporating the roundel and fin flash as per the whole fleet.

Hope this helps

Mike

Thanks Mike - yes looking at the colour scheme that was likely it - I wonder if I just saw the same airframe from different angles (once from the road and once from the carpark head-on) and in different light the colours highlighted differently ? Cheers

I think that's probably it - it was parked out side two hangar, nose on to the WAVE when I saw it.

You'd have been side on coming past the red/white fencing.

Most likely a shadow as Mike said but could have been G-RAFL, not sure if it’s been in recently ?
