Italian F35's at Lossie

Post by toom317 » Fri Mar 21, 2025 1:05 pm

With the Italian F35's at Lossie I decided to take a trip up after a 5 year gap since I was last there. I was there from Mon-Wed but they didn't fly on the Monday, wish I'd done Tue-Thurs instead. My first encounter with the F35 up close and the residents of Lossie dodged a bullet, when the plan to base the British ones there was changed and they went to Marham instead. They're not quiet are they!

Good to see, unfortunately my only day I could manage through was yesterday and……….they didn’t fly😆. What’s the reason for crossing the Main and taxiing down the South taxiway?

Very nice shots, thanks for sharing.

Was golfing at Lossie on Wednesday afternoon … two singles launched from the 05 end, passing low over the 23 end boundary fence before flicking upwards prior to banking away towards the lighthouse. Looked superb in the afternoon sunshine. Was somebody was there to catch that!

Quite loud but its all part of the scene here on the Moray Coast.

Hope you enjoyed your stay - haste ye back!

PS Don’t wait so long !

Thunder, oh well I didn't miss anything by not doing Thursday. The taxiway was out due to repairs.

Cheers Al, catch up with you when the Dutch come hopefully.

Malcy I did enjoy my trip back up there, so I hope there will be more stuff coming in the future to tempt me up. There's not much activity at Lossie on a day to day basis, but then I was spoilt by the days of non stop action previous to the Typhoons arrival.
