NATO Tigers Meet, May 2011 - Questions

the Airshow may be on Sunday 15th and not the Saturday,

Just to emphasize the airshow is NOT at the French AF base Cambrai-Epinoy, it is at the small civil field of Cambrai-Niergnies, which is south of the town. This airfield only has a 860m hard runway and parallel grass strip. It can be seen from Google earth that it was once a major military airfield with extensive hard standing and a main runway, but all this appear to be long disused. I can not see a very large static display and if any Tiger Meet Jets are to take part in the flying display I expect they will fly from Cambrai-Epinoy. Just posting to avoid and dissapointment at the airshow not being what you might be expecting. Note that there is a Fouga Magister 213 mounted on a pole outside the aeroclub at Cambrai-Niergnies

Its a good job i made the decision sunday morning to go and get booked on the globemaster trip and get the tickets sorted out for the monday as i would not have been to happy now

Chaps - After Spotting since the Early 80s this is gonna be my first Tiger Meet, Im travelling from Manchester and have taken the "Lazy" Option, Train To London then Eurostar To Lille, Ive Hired a Car from Monday to Friday for 130 Quid and have my registration confirmed for May 11th, Im looking forward to it very much, when do they announce participating aircarft??

Makes me wonder if that's why several key squadrons didn't attend Volkel, save it for the 50th meet this year.

Me and my dad will be on globemaster trip!
List looks good a few aircraft from airforces i have not seen before and the first time to see the F.1, Mig-29 and Mi-24 if they all turn up
Really looking forward to this, just hope for some sun now.

Already have a spotters day ticket but thinking about also spending a second day outside the base, does anybody have recent experiance of photography at Cambrai and the local police attitude ?

We got moved on by the local Police last May - and there wasn't even anything flying!

Very friendly however and only asked us to move further up the road.....

From Saturday 26 March 2011 at 09h00 CET we will start to offer the remaining tickets to people who have already ordered a ticket. so you will be able to book for another day.

The limited number of tickets that have become available for Monday 16th will be offered from April 2nd.
