Noticed that myself earlier, Sky News had a TV camera trained on all the weapons being taken out to the jets.

Not sure if it makes any difference anyway, but at least we are trying to be responsible. If the media aren't, well we can't change that. :)

The guy from the Arab League is saying he's been misquoted now. I think they are frightened by NATO's fire power.

The bonus of using such a weapon is they can launched well out over the Med, thus hopefully avoiding any Air Defences.

Not saying you are media Billy, but please understand what info you are after is restricted, yes a great deal of people know this info and yes it is out there on the WWW network but it shouldn't be thrown around on a open public forum especially at this time.

Seemingly Qatari and UAE combat a/c to fly to forward operating bases in Italy tomorrow. Should be interesting

Any chance of more departures from Marham tonight? Hope that's a reasonable (non-dodgy) question to ask. Please ignore if not!

Some interesting points today,

The Danish have flown their first missions according to reports, reports from Al Jazeera that Qatari jets are already over Libya and the UAE have as well already deployed to Italy

Belgian and Norwegian a/c to join the task force on Monday

Turkey want NATO to review planning of Air Strikes as it goes against Diplomatic something or another. Cyprus are opposed to the British using bases on the island, but are powerless to stop them.

Not sure if there already been a link posted but.

USAF have posted some photos from Lakenheath's part in Operation Odyssey Dawn
Airmen from the 48th Fighter Wing at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, are supporting efforts in Operation Odyssey Dawn. Here are photos from their preparations to support the no-fly zone over Libya.

hertsman wrote:The Arab League 'going wobbly' is no great surprise. It could be a case of having to accommodate many different views. Given the substantial anti-western elements it encompasses, the leaders may believe they have to tread a difficult path in not being seen as too pro-western while at the same time enlisting the help of those same nations. It is an ancient culture, but one where loyalties have been known to shift rapidly in the past and I'm sure we will see many more twists and turns before this particular scenario is played out.

It is a bit late to put the toothpaste back in the tube now, and extremely naive of them to believe a no-fly zone could be as 'clean' as they now give the impression they expected it to be - but I suspect they are having to pander to many different factions in their own membership.
