Seen a brief bit on BBC 24 that Libyan TV is reporting that a Qatari plane has been shot down over Tripoli....Could possibly be Gadaffi propaganda however!...anyone else have any info??

BBC already posted the preflight vid profiling both crews faces, shouldn't see it being a problem.

That's ok, last week the bbc showed a USN carrier in the med launching a tomcat! On the Al Jazerra blog there is a link to a Libyan twiiter account which has a recording from "a USAF EC130j turbo prop aircraft telling a Libyan ship not to leave port or it may be destroyed"

Somehow I think that is a leaked video if not then someone within the MoD has boo booed big time. The biggest no no in any material like this is to show the crews faces or names, hard to tell as it looks like they are wearing immersion suits, but I can't see any unit patches or name tags which would normally be removed before any mission like this, even their White t shirts don't have the usual Squadron crest often seen just under the neck.

I was under the impression that since the First Gulf War and the videos of captured aircrew it wasn't deemed appropriate to identify. I know that when I was in Iraq I was told never to have any faces or names tags etc etc... in any photos that I was taking.

I'm suspicious about how old that video is - it could have been filmed weeks or even months ago, just a short video that the RAF has published to keep the media happy.
I didn't think faces or badges were allowed to be shown either.

Only one I saw on Channel 5 last night showed an AV-8B landing on a carrier, no SHARs?

It wasnt allowed in 1999 when the SHARS were doing the no fly zone, Kate Adie did her interviews with pilots with just flying overalls and no patches and they kept there flight helmets on, I guess the same rules apply :S

In todays Mirror there is a photo of a B2 and a caption 'Three stealth bombers based in Italy launched precision-guided bombs on Libyan targets'

I think the reporters geography is slightly off as Missouri is a fair distance from Italy!
BECAUSE TYPING IN LOWER CASE WOULD BE EASY.............

The issue of showing Aircrew doesn't appear to be an issue? Media have been running TV footage at Gioia del Colle. RAF Pilots are seen being briefed with no attempt to hide faces. If you go onto the MoD image library there are regular images from Afghanistan showing faces and even revealing identities and units. Even three years ago the MoD were presenting footage from Afghanistan of Army Air Corps Pilots and Aircrew with faces revealed including names.

Nice one!

Was this an air to air, or air to ground combat sortie for the Tiffie I wonder?...

BBC News just showed footage of a Typhoon taxiing and taking from Gioa del Col. It was in QRA fit as far as I could tell.
