Specialist Competition - March 2011 - Ex RAF Types
Re: Specialist Competition - March 2011 - Ex RAF Types
I do, but the rules state ex-RAF types, it makes it all too easy just to plop a BBMF aircraft given the massive number of now ex-RAF aircraft out there.

Re: Specialist Competition - March 2011 - Ex RAF Types
The Spitfire was retired from RAF service in 1955 and the Lancaster in 1954.

Re: Specialist Competition - March 2011 - Ex RAF Types
So what are the aircraft currently in service with the BBMF?

Re: Specialist Competition - March 2011 - Ex RAF Types
Thought the BBMF just operated the aircraft and by a team of RAF volunters and are not as such in true RAF service
or words to that effect.
or words to that effect.
Re: Specialist Competition - March 2011 - Ex RAF Types
BBMF is a proper posting for the engineers and probably for the aircrew too.
Re: Specialist Competition - March 2011 - Ex RAF Types
first time ive entered the comp! taken at the week end

Re: Specialist Competition - March 2011 - Ex RAF Types
Right, just to settle this, we're still prepared to let BBMF stuff in the competition, even though Tony's point about the wording of the rules being slightly unclear is correct. However, we've got so far and don't want to force people to delete their entries and re-submit, so we'll let this one continue as it is.

Avro Shackelton MR3 WR985 rotting away, very sad, in same enclosure sits a Westland Whirlwind in much the same state...

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
