They pay so little tax that would we actually notice?

No-one knows how much tax they pay, so we can't comment on that.

I agree, we do not know for sure, hence why i said it was reported as that. However, it was a mere example. There are many other people in this country, who 'know' the financial system, who get away without paying their dues, and the government should be chasing them for their cash, instead of constantly draining the average man for his hard earned cash

Telling Cameron to wake up is all very well, but can you PLEASE tell him which other services he cuts in order to finance these so-called deficiences in our defence capability. I am sure that any shortfall on our side in Libya will be covered by other countries filling in, so no problems there. If you wish to pay another 5p income tax in the £, then we could have loads more Typhoons [for what purpose I'm not sure]. Simples!.
Here is a suggestion, Iraq and Afghanistan up to 2010 has reportedly cost £20.34 billion...

I personally don't fall for this 'fighting terrorists abroad so we don't have to fight them here' line. I think it was Leon Panetta who admitted there were no more than 50-100 Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan still. Serious threat to this country's security hey, the hordes are on their way over without our efforts in the desert. Obviously being there actually causes the Muslim world to move further away from us and lead to increased terrorism by sympathisers in the UK.

Change the immigration policy at home, and use the £4.5 billion you could save a year by not being in Afghanistan on keeping the defence of the nation at more capable levels. Along with using some of the money on more extensive policing of homegrown terrorists. These are real actions that would keep the population of this country safe, and keep us capable of actually waging a war that might really need waging because such extensive SDSR cuts would not have been required if we were not wasting money in Afghanistan.

There are two ways of improving your cash flow, and ultimately your bank balance. Increase incomings and/or decrease outgoings. You could keep your services and avoid extra tax by decreasing this massive, unnecessary outgoing in my opinion.
