Austrian Airshow - Zeltweg 1st / 2nd July
Seems this show always attracts something interesting as well as the Austrian AF. What is the show like ?
The runway is east west which side do we stand north or south ?
What are photos from outside like on arrival departure days ?
Is the static well laid out or to crowded for good photos ?
Anybody else planning to attend the show ? Any advise on public transport from Linz Airport to Zeltweg, would expect all the local B&B would be full but what about local camp sites ?
Thanks Paul

RE: What is the show like ?
It's usually Excellent, with lots of mass flypasts by Austrian stuff.

South

Excellent - at both ends.

Well laid out, but typically a HUGE attendance. Plan to get there early, and then get there earlier still. If you've got a plane to catch to get home, allow lots of time to get out of the car park. Local hotels will be booked out, the nearest places will be in Graz - Half an hours drive away, plus whatever queuing time to get in. No Idea about campsites. There is a railway line running south of the base, but I don't know if you can get a public train to there. I'd expect most 'spotters' will be flying into Bratislava or Salzburg and driving down. The show also clashes with Luxeil, Rhein Bentlage and Waddington.
