Accident Information
Accident Information
Hi,
I'm also looking for accident information. The Aircraft was a Tornado F3 based at RAF Leeming that had a landing gear failure (port side i think). If i remember correctly it took the approach end cable on 34 runway, dropped to one side and left the runway. I think the accident was about 1997/8?
Many thanks SB

Re: Accident Information
Hi,
Many thanks for the replies but i dont think this is the one. I'm sure it was mid to late 90's and only suffered minor damage. Another F3 had a similar accident at RAF Coningsby about 1996.
Many thanks SB

Re: Accident Information
it was ZE808 and it was 16th March 2000, myself and Dave Stock were on base at the time and Dave managed to get pictures of the crash as it happend and he passed them onto the RAF straight away and there were able to figure out what went wrong and recover the aircraft with not too much trouble...the photos even found their way to Warton as we saw them there on one of their bulletin boards several months later...I'm sure Dave would be able to dig out the original prints if you wanted to see them...

Re: Accident Information
Hi Paul,
Many thanks for the reply. That sounds like its the same accident that i'm thinking about. If possible I would really appreciate it if you could possibly post the pictures off the crash. The pictures must have shown some great detail if they ended up at Warton!
Once Again, Many thanks SB
