US Navy `Through the Ages` GB

Very much like a tin of Ronseal, it means exactly what it means in the title....

So, any takers for a `real world` GB in which you can make a model/s of any type of USN aircraft since it`s inception?

I`ll sort out dates, rules, etc, if there is an interest.

Still licking my wounds from my last GB failure but as i have a fair few that fit the bill, i am willing to throw my hat in the ring but can this be extended to the USMC as well? It wont be a Tomcat as that one is on ice to see if i can add a few more skills over the next few kits.

Ya know what gents - my model building may not be up to the professional standard of a lot of you guys on here - but I am game. Count me in!!

Couple of Ideas - Either

(1) HH-60 Rescue Hawk - In 22 Squadron colours and markings.
(2) FA-18F Super Hornet in 1 Sqn RAF or RN Markings - when the realise that the JSF is too expensive

I assume that these two ideas are ok? Or do they have to be older aircraft? E.G. F-14? E-6?

Modifications - can we modify beyond the original jet? I was thinking of a Sea Harrier Bulb nose on the FA-18 for improved radar space?

Don`t see any reason why it shouldn`t, after all, they are a branch of the Navy and their aircraft have and do operate off USN carriers.

I have decided on the Italeri 1:48 A4 E/F Skyhawk - as I say my model building skills are pretty basic. But I am looking forward to getting involved and hopefully get some good advice and constructive critism on the way!!

So that now gives me a bit of a headache!!! Fujimi Skyhawk pair, F/A-18D Hornet, Superbug, or something new? Also how long are you thinking for running this?

My original reason for asking was for the Skyhawk pair as they are USMC oob but i went looking at the stash and quite fancy the Superbug as well. I also have a wee bit of cash and the new Eduard 1/72 Hellcat grabbed me by the nads the other day! Away to look at a certain internet auction site!

Happy for sooner if its possible. I do think 1st October is too soon but you cant leave it that long with such a good subject!
