Another fine set Terry.
I've just had a look at the accident report for XV436 and the MoD had to compensate the local Coningsby former for 2 acres of winter barley that were ruined after it failed to take the cable, unfortunately the back-seater was seriously injured.
Where exactly did it end up ?

It's not often we see pics of 2sqn Tooms, thanks :thumb:

Another superb set Terry, you don't see to many 14,54 & 2 Squadron F-4 shots. Great stuff.

I give up, how come your 35 year old photos are sharper than my 21st century camera! Great shots again, any of the USAF Phantoms based in England?

Morning all,

From memory the Wreckage of XV436 went to St Athan after the accident investigation had been completed, I think it lingered on for a few years after that, the wreck of the FG.1 that crashed at Alconbury in 1980 (XV589 - the one that had its radome open on finals) ended up on the dump at Coningsby, but not 436.

Cheers

TS
