I keep seeing posts on prestwick and just wondered if it was an American airbase as there is alot of American aircraft in the photos I have seen, would be interesting to know if anyone would oblige me?

Prestwick was used by the U.S military to ferry aircraft to be used in the 2nd world war. they then had a base from 1952 till 1966ish and have used it for ferry/fuel, crew rests ever since
