Yes, really good news there, if it happens. Great to see the RAF increasing their display lineup instead of making further cuts. If it happens ofcourse.

What I'm hearing is that there may well be a Harrier display this year (ater last year's aborted attempt), starting at Southend and other selected major venues! My sources are quite good, but it'll be interesting to see what develops on this one!
It's looking likely this year that there will be Harrier displays and very possibly a Tornado too. It is subject to operational requirements and funding however and nothing has been confirmed to any airshow yet.

Do we reckon it will be a normal ship for the tonka and harrier or will they do a special scheme for them? Either way it sounds good :thumb:

Bit early for that. Airshows are yet to receive confirmation of any allocations even though they may have received indications. The display calendars for the various displays team are not currently confirmed as there are a few wrinkles to iron out.

Fingers crossed it will happen, I was most disapointed not to see one last year.

Is there any further news on this yet anyone. I would think a decision on this would have to come very soon, as they will have to start practicing the display soon i would have thought. I think the Tutor and Tucano have already started practising and the Typhoon usually starts around mid march, so im guessing the decision cant be far away.

If it happens, it will be restricted to a handful of events, as will the Tornado GR4 and Chinook. Don't expect more than half a dozen displays by each this season.

I would say that Waddington, RIAT and Farnbrough airshows would get a display from the Harrier and Tornado IF IT HAPPENS.

Thanks, Cottesmore09

Maybe Duxford's Spring show aswell:
See the RAF’s glorious past in flight alongside its sophisticated contemporary aircraft at the Spring Air Show. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight forms the centre-piece of a thrilling air show, where it shares the skies with historic Second World War aircraft and modern RAF assets.

As well it is part of the RAF Battle of Britain 70th anniversary programme.

Any news on this?
I guess they have to make a decision by March so they can start practicing.

I should think there will be a Harrier demo this year, if all goes well. I did see a Harrier pull some good high energy moves at High altitude over Cottesmore last week with some low fast passes, could of been general training but could be some sort of practice because they did look airshow type moves, if you know what i mean.

Thanks, Cottesmore09

Hahahaha.. i thought there would be one after last years cancellation  . But its back !! .

As i have seen someone say on a post under Waddington Airhow 2010. That this might be the first year in ages where the RAF are flying at there own airshow!

Thanks, Cottesmore09
