I wasn't quite quick enough. I am without transport for a day or two.Hence this was snatched through the windscreen of the moving vehicle i scrounged a lift from. Still i guess it's some form of record of it's arrival.

A couple of snaps from my walk home.

Nice to have a fixed-wing visitor for a change Lewis.
I am quite sure this is only the second time an Aurora has ever visited us.

Splendid planning, Chris (to coincide with the Dutch?). Good chance i'll be out having a look.
New job is excellent (thank you for asking), but a forty-minute car journey.I am without a car until tomorrow. There's no chance i am cycling that far. However, my door to CU main gate is only a fifteen-minute bicycle journey, so today i cycled out there. I got there just as the Aurora was preparing to depart (It departed @ 12pm)

"Dutch in June" - what might they be ? NH-90s perhaps ? Can you provide dates of deployment ?
Awaiting details with interest. ;)

It would be nice to see a flypast over Davidstow to commemorate 404 Sqns Beaufighter exploits from there during 1944. Hopefully they'll come back next year and do something for the 70th anniversary :)

Thanks for all the photos

If the Dutch do deploy this year, it will be their traditional two-week slot in June, with NH-90
merlinhole wrote:Great photos . Has the Aurora departed or is it still there ? Was rather hoping it would do some circuits of Mounts Bay .
The Aurora is still at CU, due to depart for home tomorrow. However, the previous occasion an Aurora visited (March 2010), it departed Saturday. It didn't fly yesterday.

What time did it come back Dave ? I took a detour home from work to have a look . I arrived there at 17:15 and it was on the deck , but looked like it hadn't been there long .Took the shot below in the fading light, thought it would be rude not to :)
