I guess you are not a photographer. I won't be huffing off as I won't have huffed on. You are "not sure" that I'll be missed?! I'm totally sure I won't be missed!

'Tis true I am not. But I thought most people on this board would be fairly into planes as well as photography and it seems like by not attending you are rather 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'. I reckon seeing a Swiss F-18 would be better not viewed through a viewfinder anyway!! Each to their own though and I can't deny I enjoy looking at other people's photos on here so who am i to criticise?

Of course you make fair points but, I for one have seen many Swiss F-18's with the naked eye (not worth a picture due to pooh weather!) & I welcome the opportunity to see/photograph a topside 'Turn & Burn' with toplight. Sadly this don't happen ever at Yeovilton viewed from inside. You get a dark underside or God forbid, the sun shines...a 'black' underside. On choices, well I would rather stand knee-deep in sheepshit in a field than endure being shoulder to shoulder with thousands of punters jostling for a view within the '200 metres' crowd-line leftover after the Nobs, Hoypaloy & Tagalongs Marquees /Catering Tents have been erected...all spreadout nicely & nursing semi's over the Wildcats I bought for them!
So in essence, if this is intended to force people to go on base then 'Epic Fail' springs to mind, hotly followed by FURN. (no enigma required!) Pay for your own overbudget, never to see Service or fixed-wing Op's Carriers!...I'm out, I wont be investing.

Yes Culdrose Will be Sending Five Aircraft to the Show, Not Sure Which Route they Will Take However.

They usually fly two routes
1. Culdrose to Okehampton to Yeovilton
2. Culdrose to Dawlish to Yeovilton
So if you're between one of those, you'll see them.

I'm guessing nobody previously answered your 'query' because (having checked Google Maps) I've discovered a 'Lanson' in Hong Kong & Reims. :S They definately both aint between Culdrose & Yeovilton. So I think the answer you seek is No!!

That's disappointing but that's the way the cookie crumbles.....

On a more positive note, on Thursday I was talking to one of the Dutch guys based at Yeovilton with the NATO JEWCS unit and he said that soon the Dutch F-16 demo should confirm for air day. Apparently, his Brother is part of the ground crew......he also said that he had been told that the Polish Mig-29 is LIKELY to return this Year  .

Obviously, neither the Dutch or Polish has officially be confirmed yet.....

Will Make for a Highly Action Packed Air Day if they Confirm, I Cant Remember a Recent Air Day that Could Potentially Have Six Fast Jets Displays.

Hope I am wrong but I don't think we will see the Mig 29 this year as shown over the past few years they tend to only do one UK show a year, which is RIAT this year. As I said hope I am wrong but VL has some cracking displays so will be a great show anyway..

Nice static additions again, looking good for statics this year....

Are you sure about the RAF Merlin?
When I was on base at VL last week with 848 they said they were hoping to have at least 3 Merlin at air day, all with FAA aircrew...... :S

Updates were posted on the Airday Twitter feed, so it would suggest they are sure.
