Mach Loop query

Post by luke28 » Sun Sep 01, 2013 5:56 pm

Hi guys, just a little query, Has anybody ever caught a taxi from Machynlleth to Cad West before? If so how much was it?
I know theres a bus but with the school holidays ending I don't fancy the 2 hour wait after my train arrives.. Thanks in advance :)

You'd probably be looking at £20-30

Other option is come up the evening before and stay the night in Machynlleth or dolgellau

I thought maybe about £20 odd, I can't go the night before cus of work and the way i look at it it would cost more to stay the night as it would for a taxi..
One more question, how far south of Corris do the aircraft go when doing the full loop? I've been 8 or 9 times in the past year and never seen anything when ive been at Machynlleth, do they break off a way from here?

After they've gone through Cad they either turn left before Talyllyn Lake and head towards Corris or go straight on towards Tywyn and the sea

They try and avoid the town by breaking off before either down the Dyfi Estuary towards Aberystwyth or cutting left early to re enter the Loop.

Watch the video at 5.05 and you will just make out the town to the left

Grrrrrrr :@ , i wish they wouldn't turn east so often at 9.01! Nothing more 5 seconds flying due south and everything would be flying over me more often instead of heading towards Lampeter at 9.53. After Lampeter its heading back north over the Cambrian mountains. :pop: Trying to pinpoint the landmarks on the way.
