Defo was the Herk, a friend of mine had it on radio and I saw it from Cury Village Hall, couldn't mistake the sound!

Hi all, (but especially buzzer, DaveG & Kyle),
Interesting to see your comments! There was something unusual in the distance which was to the north of here seen at 2105Z and moved slowly and cleared the eastnortheast by 2110Z this evening. It was in the distance and it was dark - I estimated the height at around 1000ft so it could have been the one that you describe perhaps. Fairly slow moving with a bright 'headlight type' static white light at each end with one smaller flashing white strobe roughly in the middle.
Strangely enough the brighter lights would fade out markedly then return, then fade again. I had the nokkies out but still not sure what it was!
There was some sound, but the strong winds here muffled it out - couldn't make out whether it was an a/c or a helicopter.
Yourselves or someone else may know if there was anything else unusual flying around this evening --Paul :thumb:

DaveG wrote:Looks like it was the Herc, Kyle got confirmation as above. Have to say I'm at Redruth side of Helston and never heard anything, but thats not unusual if wind is wrong. Just pee'ed I'm on most of day, then 30mins after I leave a visitor arrives, lol.
I've just been talking with a friend in Helston and he didn't hear anything either, must have been the wind as you say because the noise was very prominent out my way :)

Not surprised you heard it over Launceston, from what I saw on PP it also did a touch and go at Chivenor before heading off to Wales and presumable then back to Brize. ;)

An astute observation there, Pete, That will explain why that particular cab is a regular down this way. It was down this way again early today.
