In previous years we have uploaded the delivery photographs on to the NAM website, this year I thought we’d just add the following weblink – 7th February 1983 – Vulcan XM594 delivered to NAM!

The museum is open today, despite the strong winds that are now starting to moderate - however there are two major road accidents on the A17 causing major traffic issues (2 air ambulances in attendance); may be best to delay your visit until Sunday!

If anyone is planning to visit the museum this week then please be aware that when you drive towards the museum from the Drove Lane entrance there might be construction lorries that are operating on the former airfield runway and sometimes leaving and entering the site. These are transporting away planed runway surface materials from one of the former airfield runways.

While the weather forecast is perhaps not the best for tomorrow there’s a rare chance for a free visit to the museum, which is taking part in the BBC Big Day Out for Nottinghamshire

All of the participating venues are listed in here N.B. this link opens a PDF file that needs to be printed out if you want to take up the free admission offer at NAM.

To add a little extra to the day several aircraft / cockpits will be open at NAM – there’s a small additional fee to access each one; all proceeds going towards ‘Project Panini’ – the new Café & Education building.

Travel advice details for anyone planning on visiting the museum on the weekend of May 10th & 11th 2014 have just been uploaded in here! This relates to the annual County Show over on the Showground – it’s also worth noting the news item has brief details of their BBMF flypast, which take place on both days.

So if you don’t like traffic you could always visit the museum this weekend – open each day of the Bank Holiday weekend 10am until 5pm (last admission at 4pm).
