Really? that is shockingly bad, and sorry David Sleight, the photo isn't that great either. Deerhunter... very nice.

Little concerned, where was the ATC control, separation distances I thought were more than that, but what do I know ;)

Thinking of submitting an article to the Daily mail. I just had to negotiate a roundabout on my way to work. Oh my god! Whats that all about? Cars are driving around it and other cars just drive straight in between them! Worst of all, the drivers were wearing sunglasses! How could they see?

I must send in all the similar shots I have from the years gone - no idea I had been capturing such a unique event !!

Write to the letters page and demand an appology letters@dailymail.co.uk
Copy paste and send to the above address

Dear Sir

The article regarding the Red Arrows display is nothing short of being the worst, most ill informed piece of reporting I have ever seen, and you have stooped to some lowest places journalistically in the past!
The Royal Air Force aerobatic team THE RED ARROWS are by far the best and most skilled display team in the world, they represent the very pinnacle of our military forces capabilities.
The Red’s are one of the UK's proudest possessions, appearing at state events and thrilling huge crowds wherever and whenever they display.
That you choose to insult them with such utter garbage in their 50th anniversary year is deplorable.
You must publish a full and unreserved apology

Your letter should probably explain that the manoeuvre is performed in every Red Arrows display and is in fact an illusion. The aircraft have a perfectly safe degree of separation.

Daily Mail mail reporters and editors obviously aren't familiar with the technicalities of a Red Arrows display and it probably needs to be spelled out to them how stupid this article is!

Papers love to sensationalise everything but the general public does sadly take it in. As two F-16s (prob SPs) overflew Guildford inbound Farnborough this lunchtime I overheard two workman noting that two 'Red Arrows' were going over head with the comment "seen 'em before, they are only really interesting when they crash".

This article was at least a chancer trying to get his name in the news having taken a perfectly run of the mill photograph. More worrying possibly was the shot I saw on one of the facebook Reds groups last night - apparently showing the mirror pass with 6 & 8 having no more than half a tail-fin between them...now I could see instantly that this was a photoshop job (and not a great one either - the line of merged pixels from the cut & paste was clearly visible on my screen) but of course a lot of others didn't realise it - and the person posting it (who is someone who truly should know better) has simply posted it as a straight photo, rather than explaining what he's done. If the editor of the Daily Fail sees that he'll wet himself!
