The museum’s ‘Project Panini – The Build’ fund raising campaign has just received some nice coverage on the Museum Development East Midlands website. Fingers crossed that it help support the current fund raising efforts.

Sadly due to illness the ‘Panini Hamper’ wasn’t raffled at the Aeroboot, but it will be raffled at the RAF Winthorpe book launch event – date still to be confirmed!

Some fresh news items have been added here on the museum website.

They relate to some possible access issues over the next week or so and a Dominie mini-spares appeal.

Today the museum has hosted two schools as part of the Big Draw, which was co-ordinated by Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire. One of their activities involved making a ‘graffiti mural’ and the artworks that have been created today can be seen in here!

Just a quick update to advise that the museum is now ready for the school half-term holidays and we expect a good turnout of parents and grandparents to be brought along by the children that participated in the Big Draw event.

If anyone is planning to visit tomorrow (29th October) please remember that the Hewden Auction (heavy plant & equipment) is taking place on Vulcan Way – further information in here!

Try to be as safe as possible when driving down to the museum!

A quick reminder that as of tomorrow – Saturday 1st November the museum moves onto its winter opening times i.e. 10am to 4pm, with the last admission being at 3pm. This applies right through until the end of February; (closed 24, 25, 26 Dec and 1 Jan) – plus please remember that you don’t have to pay an admission fee if you just wish use the Museum Shop (loads of free car parking right outside).

In a slight break from tradition the museum has just published details of its main special event days, from the week after next right through until 2016.

There is also an updated traffic alert on there as well. There is a major vintage tractor event taking place on the Showground and the anticipated traffic caused by this event may slow visitors down as they try to approach the museum.

One is about the Monospar restoration, with more details in here!

The low level fence stanchions to replace the cones have now been ‘deployed’; work continue son the Ashton and in Display Hangar 2 panelling up continues on the Dominie. To illustrate this work the Restoration & Behind the Scenes album has been updated with photographs!

Anyone visiting the museum over Christmas with their children is being encouraged to help trial a new ‘backpack, which is part of the ACE/AHL education programme; more info in here!

For anyone that might be interested a small album of photographs has been added in here that shows some early views of the museum and its first sites from the 1970s.

During the last 24 hours there have been a few updates to the albums in here - a small restoration update and ‘one that got away’ in the early days of the museum.

Please don’t forget that during the forthcoming Christmas Holiday NAM is open every day (10am until 4pm – last museum admission at 3pm; last museum shop admission 3.40pm), but will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year Day.

We hope that you may decide to pay us a visit so that we can end the year on another high – this year we have recorded our best visitor figures for more than 19 years; and monthly visitor numbers have been higher than last year in 10 months out of 11; please try to help make it 11 out of 12. Plus our Gift Aid claim looks likely to be the best ever!
