Reading the original posting the reason is given for the choice of date. I guess that aviation enthusiasts were not foremost in the decision making History and sentiment should, rightly in my opinion, come first.

Maybe Biggin will arrange some sort of(limited) access. Personally I'll be on holiday abroad but good luck to those who can afford a Tuesday off

Sentiment is great but if no-one can see it (i.e. anyone, not just enthusiasts, I'm well aware we're not the be all and end all!) then I'm not sure I understand the point? Is this for veterans and the unemployed only, basically?

I hope they can pull it off, I think it's a great idea. I'll be taking the day off to see this as I live just a few miles from Biggin.

Does not really matter mid week or weekend. The Biggin Hill airfield management will make things as hard as possible to access the the airfield. OK they have a business to run and clients to keep happy but their attitude when the Canadan Lancaster visited was not good. Well done to the BHHH organisers, but sadly I expect only the great and the good will get access.

I get plenty of leave actually, a benefit of public sector working.

However, I was not talking solely about me. I was thinking more about the general populous that may wish to watch this event, and that is probably easier for them to do so of a weekend, rather than midweek.

Just because they are planning this event, where does it say there will be public admission. Biggin Hill is not set up for easy viewing so best bet might well be the South coast. Hopefully there will be some form of viewing area set up at Biggin on the day but BHHH will have their hands full arranging the aerial action so dont expect much.

Public admission to where? Where did I say I expect there to be any? The event encompasses a rather large area over the South of England, as far as I can see?!

If there's a public viewing area at Biggin, I would be most amazed.

Does anyone know the routing for the Portsmouth area? I know they are due to take off at 1300 from Biggin Hill and I am expecting them here around 1330 but I cannot find the actual routing after scouring the web. Can anyone help?
