Lossie - Runway Info

Post by onemac » Wed Jul 22, 2015 8:54 pm

It would appear that 39 Engineer Regiment are progressing works on the grassed area opposite Charlie/Delta to the extent they are now working pretty close to RW23. For obvious safety reasons the runway was closed today and they were using 28. I've seen no Notam so it's possible it may be operational tomorrow but just in case.......

I think they'll be on 28/10 all week, as it 's the Moray Open this week. Don't know if they still do it but they used to limit the use of 23/05 during the competition.

Notam for yesterday is up - cheers EGVP. Wonder when today's will be posted

Scott - there is no real difference in the Moray Open flying these days if last year was anything to go by. In fact a little birdie (pun intended) told me there was a difference of opinion stemming from a one-sided dictate that wasn't put in the form of a request with 'pretty please' at the end of it. Loud and busy would be how I described last year ;)

Al

Seems it was posted this morning, starting yesterday and running until 22 August :)

ythanpythan makes a good point though, where on earth will the caravan go during these dark times of 28/10 ops?

Caravan still knows which runway is in use and will be there albeit a shorter one.

Fear not chaps as the caravan was amply in evidence yesterday and should be through these troubled times. Thing that bothers me is a whole month of 10 parking :'(

It appears that 53 Field Squadron are documenting their progress at Lossiemouth on their twitter feed.
