A9C-HA Bell 430 at Fairoaks, 02Sep15

Post by Skymaster » Sun Sep 06, 2015 9:28 pm

Hi guys.

I'm new to the FC forum, and have just recently been getting back into one of my oldest hobbies, with a bit of back garden spotting, mostly. How things have changed since I used to be a "box and pole" spotter, back in the 60's and 70's!

Anyway, I just bought myself a new Canon EOS 760D and have been trying it out this week.

On Wednesday, I'd noticed A9C-HA, Bahraini AF/Royal Flt Bell 430 on FR24 [albeit with no callsign/ident]. Then picked it up on my USB dongle/adsbScope descending locally into Fairoaks [mode-s 894010].

Here's a link to a pic, as I'm having trouble posting it up.

I'm getting the error... " It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."

Hi Skymaster,

You're off to a rather good start if you've caught the new Bahrain Bell 430 already! Unfortunately the link to the image doesn't work though.

If you take a look at the image uploading guides, here or here it should help you get your photos up and running on the forums. I'm not familiar with Turbo Image Host myself, but the process of copying and pasting an IMG code or BBC code should be the same as with Photobucket or Flickr.

Been looking for an image of A9C-HA since it was first noted in the UK so look forward to seeing yours when its sorted!

If you need any further help don't hesitate to drop me a PM :)

What Sam said! I've got a feeling I'm going to end up chasing this around the south east! Closest I've got to a Dubai AW139 was 1000ft vertical 5 miles horizontal as we were both working Farnborough Radar :(

Hoping it'll be based at Fairoaks while its over here, like the Dubai's are!

OK, it's taken me a while to get round to sorting this out. My hotlink above doesn't work now, so I've created a new photobucket account, which works fine. :thumb:

Glad you got things working, that does look rather smart! Has it flown since it arrived on the 2nd? Can't say I've seen it picked up by anyone.

I've not had it on the 'scope again since the 2nd. It flew a couple of times after the initial arrival. Whether the last time was another circuit and then straight into a hangar, or whether it departed, I don't know.

894010 #Bahrain > 14:06:49 Arriving
894010 #Bahrain < 14:09:04

894010 #Bahrain > 14:35:32 Power up, taxi, take-off, quick circuit, landing and power down.
894010 #Bahrain < 14:37:57

894010 #Bahrain > 14:58:13 ???
894010 #Bahrain < 15:00:44

I'm 3 miles from Fairoaks, but I don't have the 'scope running 24/7. Fairly early morning till late at night, though.

No probs.

When it was it on the ground, it parked just over the rise, not in front of the hangar where the Dubai Air Wing AW139s are located.

This pic taken from the left hand end of the hangars, as you drive in.

Just came over, returning to Fairoaks.

DU-140 inbound now.

I just about managed to grab a few shots of the Bahraini Bell as it went over.

Just for the record, A9C-HA has recently been sold and re-regd N430V.

Hex A524F9 noted flying locally, a couple of times today.
