According to info on the French DoD website:

http://www.defense.gouv.fr/content/down ... 02016.pdf

four rafales are due at Leeming for exercise Griffin Strike at the beginning of April.

The Rafales are for EX GRIFFIN STRIKE

Plans by France and the United Kingdom to establish a bilateral amphibious power projection force by mid-2016 are on track despite "some challenges" over the sharing of data, according to the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). After five years of preparation, the Combined Joint Expeditionary Force (CJEF) is scheduled to achieve full operational capability during Exercise 'Griffin Strike' in April 2016. It will then be ready to provide the two governments with options to conduct a broad range of military intervention tasks, from humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) to high-intensity warfighting.

True but Leeming has not been Confirmed as a JW Location but is for Griffin Strike, last i heard it won't be either as this year will see a bit of a shake-up Base Wise.

Apparently French Mirage 2000's are now on the cards for JW1, RAF Leeming (from an impeccable source ). Not to sure which version, 2000-5's where mentioned.
That'll do me.

I was informed by station commander last year that Rafale's were confirmed - JW mirages are a new but very welcome addition!

Does anyone have a further info on Leeming being considered for the two new typhoon squadrons ?

Don't seriously think Leeming will be home to a Typhoon Sqdn. All the infrastructure and the tactical/strategic requirement etc, etc. already elsewhere.
