The islander may well be going north but will probably refuel at Leeming or Waddo.

Don't need it with Airwave. You can talk to anyone anywhere in the country, from the Channel Islands to NI to Shetlands strength 5 and have a one to one comms with helis as well as others.
It's more for listening and tracking than repeating!.
